Brasserie L'equipe (ブラッスリー レキップ) brings the bustling atmosphere of a Parisian brasserie to Fukuoka's Yakuin district. It’s a compact, stylish space known for its hearty French cooking and a strong focus on wine, featuring a walk-in cellar where guests can browse and select their own bottles with help from a sommelier.

The menu is built on generous, well-executed classics. Two dishes are consistently praised above all others: a rich, fluffy omelette with truffle and mushrooms, and a decadent pork fillet katsu sandwich. Other recurring favourites include pied de cochon (braised pig's trotter), cassoulet, shirako meunière (cod milt in brown butter), and flavourful house-made rillettes served with baguette. The portions are generous and the cooking is rich and satisfying.

While the food is widely loved, the restaurant's small size means it can feel cramped and lively when full, with tables set close together. On busy nights, service can sometimes feel stretched. Popular dishes may sell out, so it's wise to call ahead if you have your heart set on something specific.

Reviewers report lunch spending around ¥2,000–¥2,999 and dinner from ¥6,000–¥7,999. The pork fillet katsu sandwich was recently priced between ¥1,320 and ¥1,430, while the truffle omelette was noted at ¥2,400. Dinner with wine can easily reach ¥10,000 or more, but most find it good value for the quality and portion sizes, especially the excellent-value lunch.

  • Reservations: Recommended, particularly for weekend lunch. You can call ahead to reserve popular dishes to avoid disappointment.
  • Getting There: A 5-minute walk from Yakuin-Oodori Station.
  • Seating: 25 seats, including a counter. The space is intimate and can be noisy when busy.
  • Payment: Major credit cards (VISA, Master, JCB, AMEX, Diners) and PayPay are accepted. Other forms of electronic money are not.
  • Cover Charge: A fee of ¥440 per person applies, which includes bread and rillettes.
  • Children: Children are welcome. If booking online, do not include them in the number of guests; instead, note their number in the request field.
  • Smoking: The entire restaurant is non-smoking.
  • Parking: No parking available.
