Coffee Bimi (珈琲美美) is a Fukuoka institution, a classic two-floor kissaten (coffee house) devoted to the craft of nel-drip coffee. Here, a single, experienced pourer uses a flannel filter to slowly brew each cup from house-roasted, deep-roasted beans. The result is a uniquely concentrated, full-bodied coffee with very low acidity, a style that has earned the shop a loyal following for decades.

Reviewers consistently praise the intense yet silky texture of the coffee. Popular choices include the standard blend 'Chūaji', the stronger 'Nōmi', and various single-origin beans like Yirgacheffe. The signature fruit cake, dense with rum- and brandy-soaked dried fruit, is another highlight, as is the quiet, vintage atmosphere. For those who want to take the experience home, beans roasted on the ground floor are available for purchase.

The dedication to craft means service is deliberately slow; each cup is a small performance that can take several minutes to prepare. This, combined with the small upstairs seating area, often leads to long queues. A few guests have noted that service can feel brusque during busy periods, particularly for groups.

A visit typically costs between ¥1,000 and ¥1,999. Reviewers recently paid around ¥600–¥750 for the basic 'Chūaji' blend, about ¥850 for the 'Nōmi' blend, and ¥400–¥500 for a slice of fruit cake. For coffee enthusiasts who appreciate the ritual, Coffee Bimi offers excellent value and a memorable experience, but it is not the place for a quick stop.
