Attraction

Kabuki-za Theatre

Кабукидза

Kabuki are dynamic stage performances with vivid costumes, makeup and dramatic plots. Originally it was a form of female performance, but at some point women were banned from performing, so female roles are still played by men — onnagata. In Tokyo you can see kabuki at the Kabuki-za Theatre. Tickets are sold on the website and at the box office; an English audio guide is available. Performances are usually divided into several parts that are thematically and chronologically linked, but for a first experience a single act is sufficient because it is a complete story; tickets for a single act start from just ¥500.
