If skiing isn't your main goal and you prefer walking in scenic areas and visiting local sights, choose this option. Lower Gudauri has fewer loud parties and more Georgian atmosphere. Without a car or transfer it will be inconvenient — walking to the lifts along the road takes about an hour. There is no public transport in Gudauri. A taxi ride typically costs 10–20 lari for ten minutes; tourists often share rides to split the cost. Hotel transfers to the lifts usually cost 25 lari.
