Detailed description

Grand Dior is a new contemporary boutique hotel in Tashkent that opened in early 2026 and has already won the affection of guests with its stylish European design and high level of service. Guests particularly highlight the incredible hospitality and responsiveness of the reception team, as well as the superb breakfasts served in the panoramic rooftop restaurant. However, the hotel does have a number of significant drawbacks, including structural imperfections in the building, poor soundproofing on the top guest floor, and some isolated yet serious incidents concerning safety and service quality.

Key Observations

Exceptional front desk service: The hotel’s staff receive a tremendous amount of personal thanks for their flexibility, responsiveness, and readiness to assist with any question. Guests especially single out the professionalism of Yunusbek, Muhammad, and Azizbek.

The panoramic restaurant “L'Etage”: Situated on the sixth floor, the restaurant has become the hotel’s calling card. Visitors rave about both the buffet breakfast with its vast selection of dishes and the evening à la carte menu, noting the superb flavour of the food (especially the beef steaks) and the beautiful view over the city.

Structural inconveniences: Guests point out the absence of a ramp at the main entrance, meaning heavy suitcases have to be carried up the steps by hand. Additionally, guests on the fifth floor regularly complain about loud noise from furniture being moved in the restaurant directly above.

Main Pros

  • A brand-new hotel (opened in 2026) with fresh, stylish décor, high-end furniture and a pleasant interior scent.
  • Impeccable cleanliness in the rooms, high-quality crisp white bed linen and very comfortable firm mattresses.
  • A superb spa area on the lower ground floor with a clean swimming pool, hammam, sauna and jacuzzi, where bathrobes and towels are provided free of charge.
  • Varied, aesthetically presented and hearty breakfasts with a wide choice of fruit, pastries and hot dishes.
  • Pets are permitted, as confirmed by guests who have stayed here with their cats.
  • A convenient location in a quiet neighbourhood: just 10 minutes by taxi from the airport and 15 minutes to the city centre and railway station.

Main Cons

  • No ramp or slope at the entrance for suitcases and pushchairs – luggage must be carried up the steps.
  • Poor soundproofing on the fifth floor: every evening after 10 p.m. guests hear the clatter of tables and chairs being moved in the restaurant one floor above.
  • A serious safety complaint in August 2026: a group of tourists reported that money had disappeared from their rooms during breakfast and were dissatisfied with the management’s response.
  • An under-equipped gym that lacks basic kit (no benches, dumbbells or scales).
  • Periodic technical glitches in the rooms (problems adjusting the bidet water temperature, non-functioning remote controls, an isolated case of an air-conditioner leak).
  • A limited number of lifts, causing queues at peak times.

Description: Grand Dior is a new four-star boutique hotel whose concept is built around modern European design, comfort and genuine hospitality. The interiors are finished with high-quality materials and premium sanitary ware that create a sense of luxury. Access to the spa area (pool, hammam, sauna) and breakfast on the rooftop are included in the room rate.

Target Audience: The hotel is ideally suited to tourists who value peace and contemporary comfort, business travellers for whom proximity to the airport matters, and guests with pets.

Location & Transport

Location: The hotel is set in a quiet, green and peaceful area of Tashkent, away from the main noisy thoroughfares. The surroundings are conducive to relaxation, and there are good local restaurants nearby.

Key Points of Interest: The taxi ride to the airport takes about 10 minutes, and to the railway station about 15 minutes. The city’s main attractions and parks (such as Magic City, Seoul Mun, Amir Temur Square and Tashkent City Park) are all within 15 minutes by car.

Transport: The quickest and most convenient way to get around is by taxi via the Yandex app, which in Tashkent is inexpensive and arrives promptly at the hotel door.

Walkability: The area surrounding the hotel is safe for walking, but the main entertainment areas and the city centre are too far to reach on foot, so guests recommend using transport.

Grade: A-

Rooms & Cleanliness

The hotel’s rooms stand out for their refined contemporary design, panoramic windows and superb furnishings. Guests are delighted by the orthopaedic mattresses, the quality bed linen and the stylish bathrooms with their high-tech showers (which many describe as “divine”). Housekeeping is carried out daily and is very thorough. Among the room drawbacks are periodic glitches with equipment (televisions, air-conditioners) and serious noise on the 5th floor from the restaurant above.

Grade: B

Service

The majority of guests describe the service as exemplary. The porter and front desk team (especially Yunusbek, Muhammad and Azizbek) resolve any issues quickly, assist with luggage in the lobby and are accommodating with late check-out requests. However, the overall impression is marred by isolated incidents: a serious complaint about the theft of personal funds from rooms in August 2026, and a misunderstanding regarding the charge for an additional guest in the restaurant in June 2026.

Grade: B

Dining

Breakfast is served on the 6th floor in the panoramic restaurant “L'Etage” and deserves exceptionally high marks. The buffet offers an impressive variety: omelettes, porridges, fresh fruit, cheeses, cold cuts, pastries and pizza. In the evening the restaurant operates an à la carte menu and delights guests with refined cuisine, European-level steaks and outdoor shisha. The vegetarian menu is still limited, and the wine list needs improvement (in September 2026 guests noted the impossibility of ordering wine by the glass).

Grade: A

Facilities & Amenities

On the lower ground floor, guests will find a modern spa area with an indoor pool, hammam, sauna and jacuzzi, which has earned a great deal of praise for its cleanliness and relaxing atmosphere. Upon entry, guests are provided with bathrobes and towels free of charge. That said, the facilities have obvious weak points: the gym is almost empty (it lacks basic scales and weight benches), and there is no ramp at the building entrance for guests with reduced mobility or for luggage.

Grade: B-

Important Notes

  • When booking rooms on the 5th floor, bear in mind that in the evening you may hear loud noise from cleaning and furniture being rearranged in the restaurant above.
  • Pets are allowed (it is advisable to check in advance about any additional charges or special conditions).
  • The fitness room is currently under-equipped and not suitable for a proper strength workout.

Practical Tips for Guests

  • If you are sensitive to noise in the evening, ask for a room on a lower floor (2nd to 4th) at check-in to avoid the clatter from the 6th-floor restaurant.
  • Use the Yandex Go app for getting around the city – taxis arrive quickly and prices in Tashkent are very reasonable.
  • Be sure to visit the rooftop “L'Etage” restaurant at sunset – the view of Tashkent by evening is enchanting.
  • Always store valuables and large sums of cash in the in-room safe or deposit them with the front desk, bearing in mind the complaints that have been recorded.

Final Verdict

Grand Dior is a stylish and promising new boutique hotel with magnificent breakfasts and a spa area, perfect for a comfortable stay – provided you are not put off by the minor infrastructural flaws of a business still finding its feet.
