Niku Ryori Nigatsu Kokonoka (肉料理 二月九日) offers a unique and intimate dining experience often described as 'meat theatre'. The entire restaurant consists of a single table for one group, where the owner and chef personally grills and serves a complete omakase course. It is a one-man performance dedicated to showcasing high-end beef.
Guests consistently praise the quality of the meat, which often includes top-tier Kobe beef from the Usunaga farm, as well as rare cuts and expertly prepared offal (horumon). The owner’s precise grilling technique, using a roaster for perfect texture, and the rich, proprietary 'tare' sauce are central to the experience. Signature dishes that appear in many reviews include the 'hitokuchi 29-don' (a small bowl of rice with horumon), a large chunk of roast beef served perfectly pink, and a long-stewed tongue in a demi-glace sauce.
Some diners find the flavour profile very concentrated and occasionally salty, describing it as an acquired taste. The dining room itself is noted as being modest. The biggest challenge, however, is securing a seat. Dinner is a set course, with reviewers in 2024–2026 paying around ¥25,000 to ¥27,000 per person. For those who can get a booking, it is considered excellent value for a highly personal, chef-led experience.
