O'KINY (オキニー) has earned a loyal following and regional recognition for one thing: exceptional sundubu jjigae, a Korean soft tofu stew. The restaurant makes its own tofu daily, resulting in a silky texture that distinguishes its dishes. Stews arrive at the table bubbling vigorously in a stone pot, built on richly layered broths of either beef bone or seafood. The experience is completed by the signature ritual for the stone-pot rice: after serving the rice, you scrape the crispy layer (o-koge) from the bottom of the pot and pour in hot corn tea, creating a nutty, savory porridge called nureunbap to finish your meal.

Guests consistently praise the depth of flavor in the soups and the quality of the house-made tofu. Popular orders include the Wagyu horumon (beef offal) sundubu, which reviewers recently paid around ¥2,045–¥2,250 for, and the seafood sundubu with oysters, clams, and shrimp, priced near ¥2,150. Sets come with generous, refillable banchan (side dishes) like kimchi and namul, making the meal feel like a bargain. The restaurant has been selected multiple times for the Tabelog "Hyakumeiten" (Top 100 Restaurants) award for its category in Western Japan.

The restaurant's popularity means it can get very busy, especially during lunch and on weekends, so expect a potential wait. A few diners have noted that service can be brisk or occasionally inattentive during peak hours. While the spice level is adjustable, some found the standard level milder than anticipated.

Typical spend for lunch or dinner is between ¥1,000 and ¥1,999 per person. Given the generous portions, refillable sides, and high quality of the main ingredients, reviewers overwhelmingly consider O'KINY to offer excellent value for money.
