BAY BREWING is the official taproom of the Yokohama Bay Brewing company (ベイブルーイング 関内本店), a place dedicated to serving its own beers fresh from the source. The main draw is the extensive and rotating tap list, headlined by their internationally award-winning Bay Pilsner. The selection is broad, catering to all tastes with everything from clean, crisp lagers to modern hazy IPAs and fruit-infused styles like a yuzu weiss.
Guests consistently praise the quality and variety of the beer. Alongside the famous pilsner, reviewers often single out the juicy IPAs as standouts. The food menu is designed to complement the drinks, featuring well-executed and generously portioned bar classics. Popular dishes include the Ras Potato (thick-cut fries), eggplant fritto, and assorted sausages. The atmosphere is warm and casual, welcoming solo drinkers at the counter as well as families and groups at tables.
Visitors should note that the service style is efficient but can be reserved, and free tasters are generally not offered before ordering. On busy nights, the room gets crowded and service can slow down. For these reasons, booking ahead is a good idea for groups.
Prices are considered very reasonable for the quality. Reviewers in 2024–2026 typically spent ¥1,000–¥2,000 for lunch and ¥2,000–¥3,000 for dinner. A pint of Sprint IPA was recently reported at ¥1,330, with small beers around ¥820–¥870. On the food side, a regular portion of Ras Potato fries costs about ¥400, while a jumbo two-piece frankfurter set is ¥1,200.
