Jikaseimen Kamikaze is built around one bowl: a golden, MSG-free shio (salt) ramen that has placed first or second in the shio category of the TRY ramen awards in recent years. The broth combines whole chicken, Rausu kelp, and smoked mackerel and bonito flakes, seasoned with Mongolian rock salt, and comes with silky house-made noodles. The shop stands at the Totsuka relay point of the New Year Hakone Ekiden race, in a room packed with Showa-era memorabilia. It was selected for the Tabelog Ramen Kanagawa "Tabelog 100" in 2024 and 2025.
Most reviewers praise the depth of the broth, which changes as it cools, and the smooth, slurpable noodles. Almost every review mentions the chashu rice, seared pork belly over rice with more chopped pork hidden underneath, and several call it the highlight of the meal. The shio kogashi-negi ramen, finished with charred-leek oil, and the extra-long bamboo-shoot topping are also frequent favourites. Staff are described as warm and attentive, and the counter seats are unusually roomy.
A recurring minority finds the broth too gentle or under-salted, and the soft noodles divide opinion. A few find the chashu in the bowl too thin. With a two-person team, turnover is slow.
The shop serves lunch only, with no dinner service. Reviewers in 2025–2026 paid around ¥900–950 for shio ramen, ¥950–1,000 for shio kogashi-negi, ¥850–950 for shoyu ramen and ¥700 for chuka soba. A large portion added about ¥100, chashu rice cost ¥350–450 and the bamboo-shoot topping ¥150. A typical lunch is under ¥1,000 for a bowl, or around ¥1,300–1,450 with chashu rice. Reviewers consider this strong value: craft at this level under ¥1,000 is rare, and portions are generous.
