Un Petit Paquet (Un Petit Paquet) has been baking in a quiet residential corner of Yokohama since 1998. Chef Oikawa trained in Alsace and Luxembourg, and reviewers describe him as Kanagawa's only Relais Desserts member. The shop has been picked for Tabelog's Sweets EAST "Tabelog 100" in several years, most recently 2026. His signature is confident meringue work. The Vibrato is chocolate mousse topped with crisp meringue tubes. The namesake Un Petit Paquet is a buttery baked meringue cake, crisp outside and moist within. It rarely appears as a cut slice. One reviewer ranked the sponges among the best they had eaten.
Almost every review praises the range and how consistent it is. Recurring favourites include the custard-packed chou à la crème and the layered caramel-chocolate cakes Shizuku and Nami. Others single out the fromage cru, a cheesecake under meringue, the seasonal peach and strawberry shortcakes, and the croissants. Many regulars say the baked goods are the real highlight. Financiers, galette bretonne and fruit cake are popular as gifts.
The criticisms are modest. Some find the chocolate and mousse cakes very sweet. A small minority report cold treatment, mostly from one staff member at the counter. The fresh-cake range was cut in 2024 for staffing reasons and is only gradually returning. Popular cakes are usually gone by mid-afternoon.
Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid around ¥600 for the gâteau fraise, ¥691 for Shizuku and ¥734 for the Matcha cake. The chou à la crème cost ¥320–345, a financier ¥260 and a croissant ¥340. A baked-goods gift box came to ¥4,670. The listing puts typical spend under ¥1,000 at lunchtime and ¥1,000–1,999 in the evening category. In practice, a couple of pastries costs ¥1,000–2,000. Reviewers consider this good value: cakes sit around ¥650 where nearby shops charge close to ¥1,000, and portions are generous.
