Sannenzaka

The Higashiyama district best preserves the atmosphere of old Kyoto, with narrow winding streets, traditional shopfronts, shrines and pagodas. The most popular and photogenic streets are Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka, where restored wooden teahouses, shops and restaurants line the lanes.
