Ramen Torikaji Ippai (らぁめん トリカヂ イッパイ) has carved out a serious reputation from its location in Ikoma, a city in Nara Prefecture. A perennial fixture on Tabelog's "Top 100" ramen lists, this shop is defined by its dedication to chicken. It offers a focused menu built on deep chicken stock, distinguishing itself with both clear and creamy styles.

Guests consistently praise the entire lineup, but two bowls get special attention: the clear shoyu or salt ramen, and a unique, creamy special miso ramen that many describe as a pork-free white paitan. The chicken chashu is another highlight, frequently called out for being unusually moist and served in generous portions. The house-made noodles are noted for their firm texture, and the popular side dish, KIMAGURE丼, is a common addition. The kitchen also runs frequent, inventive limited-time bowls that draw in regulars.

While overwhelmingly popular, a few reviewers have noted occasional inconsistencies, such as softer noodles or uneven broths on busy nights. A minority also found the service to be brusque, sometimes mentioning the owner's close monitoring of the limited parking spaces.

Despite this, most find it offers excellent value. Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid around ¥900–¥1,000 for standard shoyu or salt ramen, and ¥1,300–¥1,400 for the popular special miso. The KIMAGURE丼 side dish costs about ¥500–¥600. A typical meal costs under ¥1,000, but adding a special bowl or toppings will push the total higher.

  • Booking: Reservations are not accepted; it is walk-in only. Queues are common, so arriving early is recommended, especially for limited-edition bowls.
  • Payment: Cash only. Orders are placed via a ticket machine.
  • Getting There: The shop is a 15-minute walk from Ikoma Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line.
  • Seating: There are only 10 counter seats.
  • Parking: There are five free parking spaces, but they are strictly monitored by staff.
  • Children: Children are welcome, and the restaurant provides plates and cutlery for them.
  • Updates: Check the shop's official X (Twitter) account for irregular hours and announcements about special bowls.
