PUB LOUNGE EMERALD has been serving steak since 1979 and was named to Tabelog's Steak・Teppanyaki WEST "Tabelog 100" in 2024 and 2025. The beef is thick, American-style and arrives on sizzling iron plates. You season it yourself at the table with three house condiments: the 79 Sauce (ketchup and red wine), a Ryukyu sauce of soy, brown sugar and shikuwasa citrus, and a bonito-herb salt. From outside the building looks dated. Inside is a retro American lounge with leather sofas and hilltop windows looking out to sea.
Most reviewers single out the 1-pound (450g) rib steak, which several call the best cut. They describe it as tender and lighter than it looks. The seasoning salt gets frequent mentions, and some diners buy a jar to take home. The onion soup with chunks of beef, the fried shrimp and the lasagne are also praised. The window seats come up constantly, and most diners describe the staff as kind.
The most common complaint is doneness. Some found medium-rare still very rare, while others found their steak overcooked. Some found the Jumbo steak tough, and a few called the meat ordinary. Salad and soup cost extra. There are isolated reports of service lapses: slow tablet handling, aprons given only on request, and one account of staff scolding a toddler.
Reviewers in 2025–2026 paid around ¥5,000–5,700 for the 450g rib, ¥3,800–3,900 for the 300g sirloin or Jumbo, ¥3,200–3,450 for the 150g fillet and ¥2,800 for the hanging tender. The salad-and-soup set added about ¥700. The typical spend is ¥2,000–3,000 at lunch and ¥3,000–4,000 at dinner, but with a steak and the set, expect close to ¥5,000 per person.
Many diners call it the best value among Okinawa's steakhouses for the size and quality of the steaks. A few felt the paid extras push it beyond everyday value.
