Tom & Jerry Bar (トム&ジェリーバー) is a tiny basement den styled after a classic British whisky bar, where the entire experience revolves around watching its sole bartender and owner at work. Trained in London, the proprietor, often called Tanaka-san, crafts bespoke cocktails on the spot, using his own house-made bitters, infusions, and even a proprietary Campari.
Guests consistently praise the bartender's technical skill, creativity, and command of English. Rather than ordering by name, regulars recommend describing a desired flavour profile and letting him create something unique. Cocktails like the Forest Dew, Nelson’s Blood, and a silky Negroni made with the house Campari are frequently mentioned as memorable. The focus is squarely on the craft of the drink.
However, a small number of reviewers note that the bartender can be inflexible about requests to alter his recipes, such as changing sweetness or ice levels. The intimate space has very limited seating and, as smoking is permitted, can occasionally become smoky. Some visitors also find the prices high for Osaka.
Reviewers in 2024 reported a typical spend of ¥4,000–¥4,999. Individual cocktails are priced around the equivalent of US$20, with premium pours like Springbank single malt whisky costing about ¥2,000. One recent bill for several drinks came to ¥9,900. Most visitors feel the prices are justified by the quality of the drinks and the bartender's skill, but it is not a budget-friendly option. A customary cover charge, which includes a small snack, is also applied.
