About G-LION MUSEUM
G-LION MUSEUM is Japan's pioneering classic car museum, uniquely housed within a converted red brick warehouse in Osaka's harbor district. The museum showcases an impressive collection of approximately 70-100 vintage automobiles spanning eight decades of automotive history, from early 20th century Ford Model Ts to 1970s classics.
Collection Highlights
The museum's collection features rare and well-preserved vehicles from American, European, and Japanese manufacturers. Notable highlights include multiple Toyota 2000GTs (a rare treat for enthusiasts), an extensive lineup of Rolls Royce Phantom series, classic Chevrolet Bel Airs, Buick Electras, and pre-war automobiles from the 1930s-40s. The vehicles are displayed in immaculate condition, polished to perfection throughout the atmospheric industrial space.
Visitor Experience
Most visitors spend 30-60 minutes exploring the museum's two main warehouse sections. The red brick setting creates a nostalgic atmosphere that enhances the vintage car viewing experience. The museum is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible, with a coffee shop on-site. However, visitors should note that English signage is limited, and an audio guide requires a separate paid app download.
Practical Information
The museum is located in the Osakako area, near the Osaka Aquarium, making it convenient to combine with other attractions. Admission is ¥1,200-1,500, but free with the Osaka Amazing Pass. Be aware that sections may occasionally close for private events or weddings. Some visitors have reported difficulty finding the entrance and unexpected closures, so it's advisable to check ahead during your visit.
