Chef Kazuki Takagi calls his cooking 'new Japanese'. It is classic kaiseki technique dressed with Western luxuries. The signature is truffle sukiyaki: Shizuoka's Enshu Yumesaki wagyu simmered in truffle broth, with black truffle shaved over it in heaps. From November to March the draw is live Echizen crab, butchered at the counter and served as sashimi, grilled, and as a gratin with sea urchin and truffle. The wine list is chosen with the sommelier Shinya Tasaki. The restaurant was selected for the Tabelog Japanese cuisine EAST "Tabelog 100" in 2025.
Almost every review praises the chef's warm, talkative hospitality, which makes first-timers feel like regulars. Dishes reviewers name again and again include the truffle sukiyaki, the crab-miso and foie gras chawanmushi, the dobinmushi broth steamed in a teapot, the karasumi rice and a whole spiny-lobster tempura rice bowl. Many also single out the drinks pairing, where glasses are topped up so freely that it feels close to all-you-can-drink.
The criticisms are minor. One diner felt the heavy truffle and bold seasoning put show ahead of subtlety. Another found the expensive crab course good but not revelatory. One lunch course used Sendai beef instead of the local wagyu. The sukiyaki course can be very filling, and an older review found grit on the hotpot greens.
Reviewers between 2022 and 2026 paid around ¥16,500 for the seasonal omakase, ¥19,800 for the lobster-and-truffle rice course and ¥25,000–27,500 for the crab or wagyu courses. The Tasaki wine-dinner menu cost ¥38,500 with pairing. The drinks pairing ran ¥5,500–6,500. Expect to spend ¥15,000–20,000 at dinner and ¥10,000–15,000 at lunch before drinks. Reviewers repeatedly say the same meal would cost double in Tokyo and call the pairing price remarkable, although one thought it merely fair.
