JET BAKER (ジェット ベイカー) has built a devoted following around one thing: its signature high-hydration bread. Served warm, the loaves have an ultra-chewy, addictive texture and come in daily rotating flavours like focaccia, orange, or fig and walnut. The bread is the star of both a popular lunch set and a dinner service that pairs it with craft beer.

Diners consistently praise the bread, but the generous lunch is the main draw. For around ¥1,800–¥1,900, guests get a massive salad—often topped with potato salad and chili con carne—a choice of pasta (like arrabbiata) or soup (such as clam chowder), and of course, the bread, with up to two refills. The unique 'JET' beer pours are also a highlight for many.

The restaurant's popularity means there are downsides. Expect long queues for the 20-seat dining room, which many find cramped. Lunch service feels rushed, with an implicit 60-minute time limit and staff who can seem brusque. Some reviewers also note occasional inconsistency in the salad quality.

While lunch is considered excellent value, dinner can feel less so. A la carte items like the terrine and vegetable salad (around ¥1,950) or spicy chili beans (¥1,050) add up, and there is a ¥300 table charge and a two-drink minimum per person. A platter of bread costs about ¥700 per person.

  • Access: A 3-minute walk from Kayabacho Station on the Tokyo Metro lines. The restaurant is on the 1st floor of the COSMY Shinkawa building.
  • Reservations: Lunch is walk-in only; queues are common, so arriving early is advised. Dinner reservations are available and recommended.
