KEI Collection PARIS is the dramatic new venture from Kei Kobayashi, the first Japanese chef to earn three Michelin stars in France. Located on the 49th floor of the Toranomon Hills Station Tower, the restaurant pairs theatrical fire-cooking with sweeping city panoramas from its dining room and infinity-pool terrace. Unlike a set-course menu, the experience here is à la carte, allowing guests to build their own meal from a list of signatures and grilled specialities.

Guests consistently praise Chef Kobayashi's signature small plates, such as the refreshing red-shiso granita and the 'KEI' monaka wafer, filled with foie gras and salmon. Other highly recommended dishes include a luxurious hand-roll with mid-fatty tuna (chūtoro) and caviar, and expertly grilled items like tilefish cooked with its scales on (uroko-yaki), Omar Blue lobster, and premium aged Otagyu beef. A surprisingly popular finish is the rich, complex curry rice.

While the food and setting receive high marks, some diners note occasional service inconsistencies, with staff sometimes appearing rushed. Popular main courses, particularly the high-end meats, can sell out, so it's wise to order them early. Portions are small, designed for a multi-course experience, which can add up. A few reviewers also mentioned that wine pours by the glass could be more generous.

A typical dinner costs between ¥30,000 and ¥39,999 per person before drinks, plus a 12% service charge. For reference, reviewers recently paid around ¥5,300 for the chūtoro and caviar hand-roll, ¥5,800 for the grilled tilefish, and between ¥1,600 and ¥1,800 for the signature monaka. Most feel the experience is worth the price for a special occasion, though it may be less satisfying for a casual meal if sensitive to potential service glitches.
