Sushi Yasumitsu (鮨 やすみつ) is a small, family-operated sushi restaurant in a quiet Yotsuya house, built around an intimate eight-seat counter. The experience is a purely seasonal omakase, defined by Chef Yasumitsu's direct relationships with fishermen and producers. This allows him to procure exceptionally rare and high-quality ingredients, which he serves with a distinct red-vinegar (akazu) shari.

Guests consistently praise the spectacular seasonal highlights. In winter, the multi-course Echizen snow crab is a major draw. In summer, the focus shifts to elaborate tastings of multiple sea urchin (uni) varieties. Other frequently mentioned highlights include large, sweet ark clam (akagai), rare gasu shrimp, contrasts of fatty tuna (toro) served at different temperatures, and an inventive progression of small appetizers (tsumami) before the nigiri. The meal often concludes with a signature matcha monaka ice cream sandwich. Many reviews also note the warm hospitality and the chef's habit of presenting whole crabs or large boxes of uni to the diners.

The main challenge is securing a seat, as reservations are often made six to twelve months in advance. The seasonal crab dinners can also be lengthy, lasting up to four hours. While a few isolated reviews have mentioned a sharp acidity in the shari or a cold reception, the vast majority of international and Japanese guests describe the service as warm and welcoming.

Reviewers report a typical spend of ¥30,000–¥39,999 for dinner. A standard omakase course was recently cited at ¥29,000–¥33,000, while special winter crab courses can cost around ¥55,000. Most diners consider it excellent value given the rarity and quality of the ingredients.
