Important: TOKi has announced it will cease operations at the end of September 2026. A visit is highly recommended before then.

TOKi is a modern Spanish restaurant in Shinbashi with a singular focus: showcasing the finest produce and craft from Nara Prefecture. The kitchen's connection to Nara is evident in every dish, from mains featuring Yamatō beef and poultry to the creative use of hand-pulled Miwa-style somen noodles as a pasta. The menu is inventive and playful, with reviewers consistently praising the quality and consistency of the cooking.

Guests repeatedly single out memorable dishes like a white peach vichyssoise, various somen pasta creations, and rich black croquetas. The Yamatō beef main course is another frequent highlight, as are the meticulously plated desserts and well-chosen wine pairings. While a minority of diners found some dishes lacked impact, the overwhelming consensus is one of satisfaction, with many international visitors reporting they would happily return.

The main restaurant offers tasting menus for lunch and dinner, while a connected bar area runs a separate, more casual service. The bar's weekday 'bal' lunch is legendary for its value, with reviewers recently paying ¥1,980 to ¥2,500 for a set that many call 'sensational'. Other recent prices include a lunch course at ¥6,600 and a full dinner with wine pairings for around ¥38,599 per person. While dinner is an expensive affair, guests generally feel the quality of the Nara ingredients justifies the price.

A few reviewers note occasional service inconsistencies, such as rushed pacing, and that some staff have limited English. It's wise to bring a translation app if you have specific dietary needs.

  • Reservations: Advance booking is required for the main restaurant's dinner service. The popular weekday 'bal' lunch is walk-in only; arrive early as queues are common.
  • Getting There: Located on the 2nd floor of the SMBC Building in Shinbashi. It's a 1-minute walk from Tokyo Metro's Shimbashi Station or a 2-minute walk from the JR Shimbashi Station.
  • Payment: Major credit cards (Visa, Master, JCB, Amex, Diners) are accepted. Electronic money and QR code payments are not.
  • Dress Code: Smart casual is recommended. Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, or sandals.
  • Children: Only children of junior high school age and older are permitted.
  • Smoking: The entire venue is non-smoking.
