The result is a signature style: the panko crust is thin, light, and never oily, while the pork inside remains incredibly tender and juicy, often with a faint pink blush at its center.
Guests consistently praise this melt-in-the-mouth texture, especially in the two most recommended cuts: the special loin (特ロースかつ) and the special fillet (特ヒレ). The sets are complemented by well-regarded sides, including plentiful pickles (oshinko), a choice of soups, and a house-made Worcester-style sauce that is thinner and more refined than typical versions. Occasional seasonal items like fried horse mackerel (aji-fry) and shrimp (ebi-fry) also draw praise.
The main drawback is the challenge of getting a seat. With very limited evening hours on only three days a week, long queues are unavoidable. The small space, run by an elderly staff, can feel cramped and service can be slow. A few diners have noted occasional inconsistencies, like a slightly soggy crust, but these reports are rare.
Despite the wait, most find it to be excellent value. Reviewers in recent years paid around ¥2,600 for the special loin set and ¥2,700 for the special fillet set, with a typical dinner spend between ¥2,000 and ¥2,999. For the quality of the cooking, these are considered very reasonable prices.
