Located on the second floor of the Wako Annex building, Wako Tea Salon (和光ティーサロン) is a landmark Ginza destination for classic desserts and tea. The calm, polished dining room offers views of the district's famous clock tower, providing a refined backdrop for its celebrated sweets.
The main draw is the lineup of elaborate, seasonal fruit parfaits. Guests consistently praise these compositions, which feature fruits like Sato-nishiki cherries, white peaches, or mango, layered with light, clean-tasting creams and well-balanced sponge. Classic cakes, such as the Fréjus (a type of strawberry shortcake), and puddings are also highly regarded. The formal pot service for tea and coffee complements the elegant experience.
Be aware that the salon's reputation comes with high prices and long waits. On arrival, you take a numbered ticket from a digital kiosk and may wait anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes for a table. A few reviewers have found the service to be aloof, and the quiet, adult atmosphere is not suitable for young children. Reviewers report a typical spend of ¥4,000–¥5,000 per person. A seasonal peach parfait was recently priced between ¥3,300 and ¥4,290, while a mango pudding was ¥1,210 and a pot of tea around ¥1,500. Most agree the quality justifies the cost for a special occasion.
