The owner-chef now cooks alone and serves a single seasonal set course, with no à la carte. His signature, on the menu for over two decades and mentioned in almost every review, is cherry-wood-smoked foie gras with very sweet mango, honey and pepper, served alongside rare magret duck. Fruit runs through the rest of the menu too: strawberry with cold capellini and sweet shrimp, peach with fruit tomato, pear with seared sanma (Pacific saury). The restaurant has won a Tabelog Award every year since 2019 (Silver in 2019, Bronze from 2020 to 2026).
Guests single out the foie gras and mango again and again, and many call it unique. The onion focaccia and brioche come up often, with several diners asking for more. Other recurring highlights are firm, al dente pastas such as matsutake or karasumi tagliolini, A5 Sendai beef kainomi and the tiramisu. Reviewers mention generous portions, wine and non-alcoholic pairings, and the chef seeing guests off at the door.
The criticism centres on service: several Google reviewers between 2022 and 2025 describe condescending staff, especially on the phone and around wine, and one received contradictory information about the time limit. A few found individual dishes ordinary, citing tough duck, an over-salted squid and a weak fish course. Some consider the room fairly casual for the price.
Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid around ¥9,350 including tax for the lunch course and ¥18,000 before tax for dinner, with a 10% service charge on both. A six-glass wine pairing at lunch was ¥9,900 and a glass of Vermentino ¥1,540. One lunch with full pairing came to ¥21,175; a dinner with an eight-glass pairing came to about ¥36,000. Typical spend is ¥10,000–15,000 at lunch and ¥20,000–30,000 at dinner.
Lunch is where the value lies: seven or eight substantial courses, often including matsutake and wagyu, for around ¥10,000. Dinner adds two or three courses for roughly double.
