European Ryori Ten (欧風料理 典) is the celebrated revival of a beloved local institution, Wada-mon, faithfully recreating its most famous dishes. Located in the quiet Sakurazaka neighbourhood of Fukuoka, the restaurant is built around a menu of craveable Japanese-Western classics that have drawn a loyal following.

Guests consistently praise three signature dishes above all else: the lemon steak, featuring thin slices of beef seared on a hot iron plate and finished with a bright lemon sauce; the intensely dark and richly spiced black beef curry; and the beef tataki, served with a fragrant sauce and a generous amount of chopped scallions. Other well-regarded items include a silky vichyssoise, asparagus gratin, and tongue stew, all noted for their excellent execution. The warm, steady hospitality and the restaurant's layout—all tables are in semi-private rooms—make it a popular choice for celebrations.

A few reviewers note that the courses can be very rich and filling, with some struggling to finish a full set menu. As a newer establishment, some early reports mentioned occasional sold-out menu items. While the rooms are semi-private, noise can carry from an adjacent party. Dinner prices, which typically fall between ¥15,000 and ¥19,999, were considered high by a minority, though most felt the quality and portion sizes offered good value. A prix-fixe dinner course was recently cited around ¥16,500, while à la carte sets like the lemon steak and special beef curry were reported at ¥3,300 and ¥1,540, respectively. Lunch, when available, is much more accessible, in the ¥2,000–¥2,999 range.

  • Reservations: Essential. The small restaurant has only 18 seats, and reviewers recommend booking a week or more in advance.
  • Getting There: A 1-minute walk from Sakurazaka Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.
  • Payment: Major credit cards (Visa, Master, JCB, Amex, Diners) are accepted. Electronic money and QR code payments are not. A 10% service charge applies at dinner.
  • Seating: All seating is in semi-private rooms for parties of two to eight.
  • Children: Children of all ages are welcome. High chairs and a kids' menu are available; the Kids' Plate (¥1,980) should be reserved in advance.
  • Language: Service may be in Japanese only. An English-speaking server is not guaranteed, so a translation app is recommended.
  • Smoking: The restaurant is non-smoking. A designated smoking area is available outside the entrance.
