Hidden inside the older restaurant Naniwatei, masa (天ぷら成) is an eight-seat counter dedicated to tempura omakase. Chef Masa focuses on seasonal Hokkaido ingredients, using a very thin, crisp batter and precise oil control that guests consistently praise for being light and not greasy.

The meal is a procession of local seafood and mountain vegetables. Signature items include uni (sea urchin) served on crisp seaweed, and sweet shrimp paired with a cracker made from its own shell and a touch of caviar. The experience concludes with rice cooked to order in an iron pot (takikomi gohan), with any leftovers packed as onigiri for you to take home. The house-made warabi-mochi for dessert is also a highlight.

While praised, some guests note that the drinks policy can be unclear, with a few reporting unexpected charges and a requirement to order a beverage. The entrance can be tricky to find on a first visit, as it's located within the Naniwatei restaurant. A few diners have also found the abalone occasionally gritty.

Reviewers in 2024–2025 reported paying between ¥14,500 and ¥23,000 for the omakase course, with specific bills noted at ¥18,150 and ¥21,780. A typical lunch is around ¥10,000–¥15,000, with dinner from ¥15,000–¥20,000. Be aware that drinks can add significantly to the bill; one guest reported an extra ¥10,000 for several beverages. Diners overwhelmingly find it excellent value, citing the high quality of the ingredients and the engaging counter-side theatre.
