Honkaku Teuchi Udon Okasen (本格手打うどん おか泉) is known across Kagawa for its trademarked hiya-ten-oroshi. It is a bowl of chilled, glossy hand-cut noodles under two large prawn tempura, with sweet potato, pumpkin and shiso tempura, grated daikon and ginger. You pour the sauce and squeeze the lemon yourself. Most udon shops in the prefecture are self-service, but this is a full-service sit-down restaurant, and the noodles are made in view of the dining room. It has been picked for Tabelog's udon "Tabelog 100" list repeatedly since 2017.
Almost every reviewer praises the noodles' firm bite (koshi), and several call it the best udon they have eaten. Tempura is fried to order, crisp and generous. The self-serve oden is a frequent favourite, especially the beef tendon and konnyaku. The half-dried udon sold as a souvenir is a popular buy. Service is quick: staff take your order in the queue, and food arrives minutes after you sit down.
The main complaint is the wait. Thirty to forty-five minutes is common, and holiday queues have run from 90 minutes to two hours. Kagawa locals point out that it costs more than self-service shops. Individual reviewers found the room rushed, the batter heavy on thin prawns, the beef tendon tough or the broth slightly odd.
Expect around ¥1,000–1,500 per person at lunch or dinner. Reviewers around 2026 paid ¥1,250–1,280 for hiya-ten-oroshi, plus ¥250 for a large portion. Bukkake tempura (cold, one prawn) was ¥990, and oden was ¥165 a piece. Reviewers rate two large prawns and a filling bowl for about ¥1,300 as strong value by city standards.
