This branch is credited with popularising shirunashi, soupless Jiro, within the chain, and reviewers name it the best soupless bowl of any Jiro. Thick, wavy noodles are tossed in a sweet pork-and-soy sauce with raw egg yolk, black pepper and fried onion. Daily extra toppings, called 'are' and announced on the shop's X account, keep regulars coming back.

Almost every review praises the pork. It is rolled, fall-apart tender and well seasoned. The soupless bowl and the mild, slightly sweet emulsified soup earn consistent praise. Favourite add-ons are nira kimchi (garlic-chive kimchi) and negi (spring onion in sesame oil). Reviewers also mention fast turnover and friendly staff.

There are complaints too. One Korean visitor said staff ignored requests for no vegetables and firm noodles, and served apparent regulars first. A regular noted that the cooks rarely return a goodbye. Others report smaller pork than before, rising prices, a cramped room, pressure to eat quickly and occasional off days, including a thinner soup after staff changes.

Both lunch and dinner typically cost under ¥1,000. In 2026, reviewers paid around ¥980 for a small ramen and ¥1,080 for a large. The soupless supplement was ¥120–150, nira kimchi ¥120 and negi ¥180. One reviewer who added double pork and several toppings paid ¥1,770.

Value is very good. A small bowl holds about 300g of noodles before boiling plus a heap of vegetables, so most people leave full for under ¥1,200. Some long-time regulars do feel the climb from ¥600 years ago.

  • Access: 3 minutes on foot from Isezakichojamachi Station (Yokohama Subway), 8 minutes from Hinodecho Station (Keikyu Main Line), 10 minutes from Kannai Station (JR Negishi Line). The shop is a standalone house.
  • Booking: no reservations, so walk in and queue. Weekend queues are 1–2 hours. Arrive around 10:00 for the 11:00 opening, as the shop often opens early.
  • Payment: cash only, through a ticket machine. Notes up to ¥1,000 are accepted, and staff give change. No credit cards, electronic money or QR payments. The listing notes that a service fee may be added.
  • Ordering: join the queue first, then buy a ticket when the person ahead of you does. When staff check your ticket, say 'men sukuname' (less noodles) or 'men hanbun' (half) if you want a smaller portion. When asked 'ninniku iremasu ka?', name your free toppings: ninniku (garlic), yasai (vegetables), abura (fat), karame (stronger seasoning).
  • Seating: 12 counter seats in a very narrow room, with no private rooms. Eat promptly and wipe the counter when you leave.
  • Smoking: non-smoking, including in the queue. There are ashtrays outside.
  • Parking: none on site. Meters and paid car parks are nearby.
  • Closures: closed Wednesdays, with occasional surprise closures. Check the shop's X account before going.
