SALONE 2007 (SALONE 2007) is a dim, plush basement dining room under Barneys New York. It won Tabelog Award Bronze every year from 2017 to 2021 and was named to the Tabelog Italian EAST 100 in 2021, 2023 and 2025. The dish people travel for is the Spaghetti Pomodoro. Its tomato sauce contains no meat, the aromatic vegetables are cooked for eight hours or more, and you choose your portion from 20g to 100g. Courses open with a standing signature: an A5 wagyu sirloin spiedino wrapped around white-truffle mashed potato. The kitchen also serves cucchiaio, single-spoon bites that pair hot meat with a frozen element such as porcini semifreddo or liver ice. The menu changes monthly, but the pomodoro and the wagyu spiedino stay on.
Service is praised in almost every review. Staff explain each dish, birthday plates come with piped chocolate lettering, guests take home a handwritten or photo menu, and the chef visits each table. Beyond the signatures, reviewers rave about the tagliolini alla gricia, the Kinka pork shoulder and the focaccia. The wine and non-alcoholic pairings are often singled out.
The complaints mostly concern extras. One diner was charged ¥3,000 a head for truffles that had been described only as "reasonably priced", and others mention upselling. Some reviewers also note long gaps between courses and small portions. A few found the cooking clever but unmemorable, the pomodoro included.
Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid ¥7,700 for the eight-course Pranzo lunch, which comes to ¥8,470 with service. Pranzo Upgrade cost ¥12,100, and a weekday pasta lunch cost ¥5,000. Add-ons ran to ¥3,000–3,630 for a truffle shaving, ¥4,235 for the non-alcoholic pairing and ¥2,057 for a melon sorbet. Expect to spend roughly ¥10,000–15,000 at lunch and ¥20,000–30,000 at dinner. One couple spent about ¥25,000 each in the evening.
Most reviewers call the Pranzo excellent value for food and service at this level. Dinner is better judged as a special-occasion spend. Agree on add-on prices before you accept them.
