Sushi Tsugu (鮨つぐ) serves a long Edo-style omakase at dinner: 24 to 28 items that alternate small dishes with nigiri on warm rice seasoned with red vinegar. Abalone, uni and ikura all appear. Reviewers keep pointing out that a comparable meal in Tokyo would cost roughly twice as much. The signature is the tamanegi-toro hand roll, which is fatty tuna with chopped onion in place of scallion, passed across the counter like a small bouquet. On weekdays the second chef serves a full lunch course for a fraction of the dinner price. The restaurant was selected for the Tabelog Sushi EAST "Tabelog 100" in 2025.
Value runs through almost every review, followed by the portions. Several guests say they left very full. The dishes named most often are the charcoal-grilled tachiuo (beltfish), the soft anago (sea eel), the onion-toro roll and the seasonal chawanmushi (savoury egg custard). Guests like the owner's warmth and his sake recommendations, and foreign visitors report feeling welcome.
The criticisms are specific:
- Non-drinkers find the drinking snacks very salty.
- One reviewer found sand in the clam soup.
- On one visit the uni and hand rolls arrived cold.
- A few guests mention loud regulars.
- An English-speaking guest seated in the private room received no greeting and no explanation of the dishes.
- The lunch slot of about 90 minutes can feel brisk.
Prices reported by reviewers in 2024–2026:
- Dinner omakase: ¥13,200, or around ¥13,800 with a soft drink.
- One couple spent just under ¥40,000 with sake and extras.
- Lunch: ¥4,400.

A typical spend is ¥15,000–19,999 at dinner and ¥4,000–4,999 at lunch. On value the verdict is emphatic. Reviewers describe the quality and the volume as well beyond the price, and the lunch especially so.
