Teuchi Soba Okamura (手打蕎麦おかむら) is a celebrated soba restaurant in a quiet residential area of Zushi. Its master trained in the prestigious Daruma tradition, a lineage evident in the precise, tightly cut noodles and the strong, balanced dashi broth. The restaurant offers a choice between two types of noodles: a refined, white soba made from the heart of the buckwheat grain, and a more robust, dark 'inaka' soba with a rustic texture and aroma.

Guests consistently praise the exceptional texture and 'throat-feel' of the noodles, alongside the clean, umami-rich dipping sauces. The tempura is another highlight, noted for being crisp and light. Popular orders include the classic tenzaru (cold soba with tempura), kamo-zaru (with duck dipping sauce), and tsuke-tororo (with grated yam). For a starter or side, reviewers recommend the grilled yakimiso or the soba-kernel ice cream for dessert.

Diners should be aware that portions are considered modest; ordering a large size (ōmori) is a common recommendation for those with a healthy appetite. Some visitors have also reported that front-of-house service can be brusque or inattentive at times. The restaurant is popular and often sells out of noodles by early afternoon, so arriving early is wise.

Expect to spend around ¥2,000–¥2,999 for lunch and ¥1,000–¥1,999 for dinner. Reviewers recently paid approximately ¥2,000 for a large tenzaru, ¥1,400 for tsuke-tororo, and ¥900 for a basic zaru soba. While not the cheapest, the quality of the ingredients makes it good value.
