The Kyoto National Museum opened in 1897 and houses over 12,000 items dedicated to Japanese and Asian art. It’s easy to spend several hours here. A ticket for the permanent exhibition costs 700 yen, temporary exhibitions 1,600–1,800 yen, and it’s 300 yen to visit the garden.
