Opened in 1991 as an offshoot of Tokyo's pioneering Meyau ethnic-curry lineage, this small house restaurant cooks its own Indian, Thai and Sri Lankan-style curries, with heat graded in stars. The signature is the four-curry platter: rice laid out in a cross, with a different curry in each quarter. The house icon is the Indian-style Yellow Curry, a whole bone-in chicken leg that falls off the bone, served at the top heat level. It has been selected for Tabelog's Curry EAST Tabelog 100 in 2023, 2024 and 2026.
Nearly every review praises the Yellow Curry for its genuine heat and tender chicken. Other regular picks are the Black Curry, a Kashmiri style with big chunks of pork, the tomato-and-cinnamon Sri Lankan beef, and the seafood curry. Regulars also order the pork chilli stir-fry. Fans like the loose, half-polished rice and the free house-made chilli nam pla on every table. Portions are generous.
The criticisms are consistent. Curries arrive warm rather than hot, which the shop says is deliberate. The firm half-brown rice divides opinion, and some find the four-curry platter awkward to eat. Service depends on who is working; one evening visitor reported cold rice and inattentive staff. The mini salad is plain shredded cabbage, and the spice ratings run hotter than most people expect.
Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid about ¥800 for a single curry with rice, ¥1,000–1,050 for the two-curry set and ¥1,400 for the four-curry platter, with 1.5x rice ¥80 extra. The curry-and-stir-fry set was about ¥1,100. Until 14:00, a lunch set with salad and coffee came to about ¥950, and a mini salad was ¥150. Expect to spend roughly ¥800–1,400 at lunch or dinner. Reviewers writing in several languages call it some of the best value anywhere.
