Diamond Biryani (DIAMOND BIRYANI) has earned a devoted following for one thing: biryani, cooked to order in individual iron pots. This isn't your average curry house. The main event is the presentation, when staff lift the lid at your table, releasing a cloud of aromatic steam, then scrape the crispy rice (o-koge) from the bottom of the pot. The kitchen uses light, fluffy basmati rice and a complex blend of spices in the authentic Hyderabadi style, which some diners find milder than expected, but most praise for its depth.
The menu features rotating specials like white fish with clams, alongside permanent favourites. Reviewers consistently recommend the tender Bone Chicken (recently around ¥1,630) and Mutton (around ¥1,780). Each biryani comes with a generous array of condiments like raita, gravy, and fried onions, allowing you to customize the flavour with every bite. For the price, which is typically ¥1,000–¥1,999 for a meal, most guests consider the generous portions and careful preparation to be excellent value.
The biggest drawback is the wait. The restaurant is small and very popular, leading to queues that can last from 20 to 60 minutes, and you'll often place your order while still in line. The interior is cramped and can get very hot in the summer, so visiting in cooler months is advised. Despite the wait and spartan setting, fans return again and again for what they call one of the best biryanis in the city.
