Fukufuku Tei (福々亭) is a small, counter-only ramen shop in Ito that has earned a serious reputation among noodle fans. It specializes in Sano-style ramen, a type known for its clear, clean-tasting broth and long, hand-cut noodles. The kitchen is visibly immaculate, and watching the owner carefully assemble each bowl is part of the experience.

Guests consistently praise the 'marutoku' bowls, which come with a full set of toppings: two different cuts of tender, almost melting chashu pork, several plump and juicy house-made wontons, and a seasoned soft-boiled egg (ajitama). While both the soy sauce (shoyu) and salt (shio) versions are popular, many reviewers consider the delicate shio ramen the true standout. The generous portions of slippery, house-made noodles are another highlight.

However, the shop's refined style isn't for everyone. Some diners find the broth too mild for their liking, preferring a punchier flavor. The large noodle portions cannot be reduced, which can be a challenge for some to finish. A minority of guests have also reported the owner's service as curt, particularly regarding a strict no-photography rule. For the quality and craft, most visitors find the prices fair, though some expecting a cheap, quick bowl may find it expensive.

Reviewers in 2024–2026 noted the shio marutoku (salt-based special) was about ¥1,500, with the shoyu marutoku (soy sauce-based) around ¥1,350. A typical meal costs between ¥1,000 and ¥1,999.

  • Getting There: Fukufuku Tei is a 2-minute walk from Ito Station.
  • Booking: Reservations are not accepted. Expect to queue, especially at lunchtime and on weekends.
  • Payment: Cash only. Credit cards, electronic money, and QR code payments are not accepted.
  • Seating: There are about 12 seats at a single counter.
  • Good to Know: The popular shio ramen often sells out before noon, so arrive early if you want to try it. No adjustments can be made for noodle firmness or portion size. Photography is often discouraged. The shop has been known to close on short notice, so it's wise to check ahead if possible.
  • Age Restriction: Children are welcome.
