FRUITS SUGI (フルーツすぎ) is a small fruit parlour in Kitaotsuka that has gained a devoted following for one thing: its celebration of perfectly ripe, seasonal fruit. The owner, who has experience sourcing from Tokyo’s vast Ota Market, builds each parfait around a single star ingredient at its peak. This means minimal cream, sponge, or fillers — just pure, unadulterated fruit flavour in a photogenic composition.
Guests consistently praise the quality and generosity of the offerings. Highlights include the ‘Momo Marugoto’ parfait, which features a whole, sweet peach; intricate parfaits made with balls of premium melon; and luxurious creations starring sought-after Miyazaki 'Taiyo no Tamago' mangoes. A three-strawberry tasting parfait has also been noted. Reviewers frequently say the experience is worth a special trip. For those who can't get a seat, the fresh juices (melon, watermelon) and the ability to buy fruit to take home are welcome alternatives.
The main drawbacks are practical. The shop is tiny, with only a few counter seats and two small tables, making reservations essential and extremely competitive. A few guests have found the service brusque or the fruit quality on a given day not quite up to the high price. Parfaits cost between ¥3,000 and ¥4,000, with reviewers recently paying around ¥3,200 for a melon parfait, ¥3,500 for a whole peach or three-strawberry parfait, and up to ¥5,400 for the premium mango version. While not cheap, most visitors who prize exceptional fruit feel the cost is justified.
