This small lunch counter does one thing: kaisendon, sliced raw fish over vinegared rice. Each day the owner buys whole wild fish direct from fishermen and posts what is on, with its origin, such as Shizuoka wild tuna or live sweet shrimp. The set arrives like a small kaiseki tray. Alongside the bowl come chawanmushi (savoury egg custard), dashimaki (rolled omelette), pickles and a kobachi side dish.

Almost every review praises the freshness and the thick cuts. Reviewers single out the wild tuna, live amaebi, aori-ika squid and seared kamasu or kinki. The yuzu-scented chawanmushi and the shijimi or aosa miso soup also come up again and again. Guests describe the owner and staff as kind and easy to talk to. Rare limited bowls, such as kuri-gani crab, keep regulars coming back.

On the downside, service is slow, because one or two people run the room. Several diners found the bowl and the rice portion small. A few 2026 reviews mention fewer toppings or a sinewy tuna bowl. Water and tea are self-service.

Prices are documented only for lunch, since there is no dinner service. Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid:

  • ¥1,760–¥1,870 for the daily kaisendon set, or ¥2,640 with ikura
  • ¥880–¥1,210 for the tuna zuke-don
  • ¥1,100 for the shrimp kakiage-don
  • ¥1,650 for the tuna katsu with tekka-don set

A typical lunch costs ¥1,000–¥1,999. Reviewers consistently call it remarkable value for the quality and the sides. Big eaters may want to add extra fish or a large rice.
