RED CHILI (レッドチリ) has earned a strong reputation in Sapporo for one main reason: its enormous, freshly baked naan bread. Served hot from the oven, with a crisp exterior and a soft, chewy inside, it’s the perfect partner for the restaurant’s rich, deeply flavoured curries. Prepared by a Nepali chef, the menu features both classic Indian styles and Sapporo’s own soup-curry.

Guests consistently praise the generous portions and authentic spice notes. Favourites include the lamb and chicken sag (spinach) curries, keema, and classic butter chicken. The spice level can be adjusted to your preference, with levels 1 through 4 offered free of charge. The weekday lunch sets are particularly popular, seen by many as a standout bargain. Reviewers recently paid around ¥900 for a set including a curry, salad, a drink, and a choice of the famous naan or rice. À la carte, a Keema curry was recently about ¥1,070 and Butter chicken around ¥1,150. Upgrading to a cheese naan typically adds ¥200.

While the naan and core curries receive high marks, some diners have noted inconsistencies. A few found the spice level wasn't what they ordered, or that seafood and soup-curry dishes were less impressive than the classics. Service is generally described as quick and friendly, though a minority felt it was indifferent. Overall, RED CHILI is considered to offer excellent value for money, making it a reliable choice for a satisfying and affordable meal.
