Ushijuu Teraoka is built around Noto beef, Ishikawa Prefecture's own wagyu. It serves the meat as an ushi-juu, a compact lacquered rice box, on Kutani porcelain. The signature is ushimabushi: Noto roast beef eaten three ways in the hitsumabushi style. You eat it plain first, then with condiments, then with dashi broth poured over. Freshly chopped real wasabi and a deep-orange raw egg yolk come alongside.
Nearly every reviewer calls the beef melt-in-the-mouth tender. Many single out the chopped wasabi and egg yolk with the roast beef. Japanese diners often rate the ushimabushi above the standard boxes. The milk-salt gelato, quick service and kind staff also earn regular praise. Solo diners and gluten-free guests say they felt well looked after.
The criticisms are consistent. Some feel rushed by the one-hour seating, and the box is small, so big eaters may want extra rice. The steak comes quite rare. One diner found the Noto roast beef unremarkable. A German reviewer called the meal lukewarm, fatty and overpriced. A Taiwanese reviewer reported a dispute over which sets had been ordered.
In 2025–2026, reviewers paid around ¥2,640 for 松 (Matsu), the cheapest set, and ¥3,630 for 竹 (Take). They paid ¥4,730 for 梅 (Ume), the all-Noto-beef set, and ¥4,950 for ushimabushi, all including tax. A glass of Noto red wine was about ¥880. Lunch typically costs ¥3,000–3,999. Dinner uses the same menu, so expect roughly ¥3,000–4,999.
Most reviewers find it pricey but worth it as an affordable way into brand wagyu. If you go, spend up on 梅 or the ushimabushi.
