Sisiliya has been baking Neapolitan pizza in a wood-fired oven near Kannai since 2001. The owner holds the maestro title of the Neapolitan Pizza Association and trained in Sicily. He kneads the dough by hand, and most seats are at a counter facing the oven. The pizzeria won the Tabelog Award Bronze in 2017 and 2018. It has also been selected repeatedly for the Tabelog Pizza 100, most recently in 2025.
Reviewers praise the dough above all. It is chewy and fragrant, with a charred rim that many say is worth finishing. The margherita draws the most praise, in both its buffalo-mozzarella and smoked-mozzarella versions. One regular called the tomato sauce clean and almost broth-like, with none of the usual acidity. Guests also recommend the quattro formaggi, the funghi special and seasonal pizzas such as zucchini with beef tendon. The Fresca is a house original made with finely cut skin-on lemon and tomato. Among the starters, the asparagus carbonara and the off-menu swordfish with edamame stand out. Several reviewers single out the friendly hall staff for their wine recommendations.
Service is the main weakness. Several foreign reviewers found most staff cold, and one was turned away abruptly. Some Japanese regulars felt rushed or were given awkward counter seats. Other complaints: the dough is on the salty side, the room is cramped and hot, the pizzas are small for the price, and the sausage starter is weak.
Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid around ¥2,200 for the margherita bufala and ¥1,700 each for the marinara special and the genovese. They paid ¥1,900 for quattro formaggi with anchovy and ¥400 for tiramisu. Dinner typically runs ¥3,000–3,999 per person. Two people with a starter, two pizzas and a drink each spent ¥7,000–8,000. There is no lunch service.
The food is good value. Japanese reviewers often say the quality feels underpriced, though some visitors found the personal-size pizzas small for the money.
