Ramen Senichi (らぁ麺 せんいち) has quickly become a standout destination in Nara for its refined take on a classic. The specialty here is a clear chicken broth (chintan) built on a complex kaeshi, or seasoning base, blended from multiple soy sauces. This results in a soup that is clean on the palate but remarkably deep in flavour. Paired with house-made noodles and a selection of carefully prepared chashu, including lightly smoked and charred varieties, it's a bowl that has earned the shop a spot in the Tabelog Ramen WEST "100 Famous Shops" list.

Diners consistently praise both the 醤油らぁ麺 (shoyu ramen) and 塩らぁ麺 (shio ramen), with many noting they drink the soup to the last drop. The variety and quality of the chashu pork toppings are a frequent highlight, as is the stylishly clean interior. On weekdays, the shop also offers a well-regarded soupless 汁なしまぜそば (shiru-nashi mazesoba). However, some visitors report that service can be slow or occasionally curt, particularly when the shop is run by a single person. A minority also find the soy broth a touch salty. Be aware of strict house rules, such as a one-bowl-per-person policy and limits on photography.

Despite its high quality, Ramen Senichi is considered excellent value. Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid around ¥930 for a basic shoyu or shio ramen, and between ¥1,300 and ¥1,350 for the 特製 (tokusei, or special) version with extra toppings. The weekday mazesoba was about ¥850. With most basic bowls under ¥1,000, it delivers quality well above its price point.
