Okinawa Cuisine Agu Buta Shabu Shabu AGU- (沖縄料理 あぐー豚 しゃぶしゃぶ AGU-) is built around Agu, the Okinawan heritage pig prized for its sweet, clean-tasting fat. The pork is cut to order and comes two ways: as shabu-shabu, thin slices swished through a light house broth, or as seiro-mushi, steamed in a bamboo basket over vegetables. You can upgrade to shimakuru, a 100%-pedigree native pig. Draught Orion beer is a rarity in Nagoya.
Nearly every review praises the sweetness of the fat and the broth. Staff often recommend a dip of sesame sauce with island chilli oil. The homemade jimami-dofu (peanut tofu), served plain or deep-fried, is the most-mentioned side. Other repeat favourites are tender rafute (braised pork belly), umibudo (sea grapes), mozuku seaweed tempura and soki soba (pork-rib noodles). Staff are repeatedly described as warm and helpful.
Complaints are minor. One reviewer found the proprietress curt, one found the room very loud, and another found the goya champuru quite bitter. Smoking is allowed throughout, which bothered some diners.
There is no lunch service, and dinner typically runs ¥4,000–5,000 a head. Reviewers in 2024–2026 paid around ¥2,178 per person for the shabu-shabu or steamer set, ¥1,078 for extra pork and ¥528 for the shimakuru upgrade. They also paid jimami-dofu ¥638, rafute ¥858, soki soba ¥1,078 (half portion ¥759) and Orion draught ¥759. A course with two hours of unlimited drinks costs about ¥6,000. Reviewers call it very fair for Nishiki, and set portions are generous; one set often feeds two.
